fairy tale ball

This Saturday we will be participating along with an incredible list of designers in the annual Southeastern CT Children’s Museum charity ball.

Hosted by party planner extraordinaire, Josh Chalmers, this event is one that will surely be remembered!

Each designer gets to create a table out of a storybook, so we decided to do the story of Momotaru, or Peach Boy.  It’s a Japanese children’s story about a little boy born out of a peach to an elderly couple.   He defeats ogres and such and returns with riches.  I guess a Japanese Robin Hood of sorts.

Anyway, we’ve dreamt up a beautiful table setting and I can’t wait to see it all come together!  And we’re looking forward to seeing all the amazing designers and their tablescapes!  The best part is that the money goes to the Children’s Museum and helps support all of their amazing programs.

And speaking of charity, my daughter’s elementary school has asked all the kids to gather their loose change to donate to Unicef’s Haiti Relief fund.   Their goal is $300.  Can you imagine if every school in the United States donated their change to the fund?

If your child’s school hasn’t already set up a program, encourage them to do the same!
