hana shindig recap

Vincent van Gogh once said “your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you’re put here on earth to do, with such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling.”

I am so grateful to call this business my profession for the past 12 years and grateful to everyone who has helped support us along the way. Friday was a rainy mess of a day as it was all week, but we moved forward with the shindig and had such a great turnout despite the weather.

Some of our industry friends came as far as Vermont! Thank you Tedd and Laure from Jasper and Prudence Floral & Events!!!  It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and some new ones in this crazy industry of ours.

I wanted to use as many local industry friends as possible so we had Engine Room cater our event with brisket sliders, caesar salad and their famous deviled eggs and cornbread.  Gourmet Galley took care of the busy bar including a signature cocktail~ our take on the St Germain cocktail with rose instead. Lis’ Bake shop made some delicious desserts while Zest Bakery created beautiful flower sugar cookies to take home.

Thanks to the linens and rentals from Rentals Unlimited and my dream girls at True Event, the party was so festive! We especially loved our confetti filled balloons!!! And thank you to Janina Bromley for making myself and the Hana girls so pretty for the evening!

Katharine from Katharine’s Vault was onsite painting one of our centerpieces throughout the evening.  What a beautiful keepsake for your wedding or event! Loved this!

The fun really shows from the images of our flower wall captured by Photo Booth Planet! And if you were lucky enough to witness some of us dancing (cough, Sarah True, cough) thanks to our awesome DJs Mike Schwab and my own hubby from Power Posse. They also provided all the great lighting and sound for the evening. I was told a passerby walked by our studio and thought it was a nightclub!  Success!

These gorgeous images taken by Maggie Conley are just a snippet of the evening.

Thank you again for coming!  I was also told this should be an annual thing, so I’ll work on that!

Cheers to an amazing wedding season to all of our friends!!!

peace+love,
yumiko
