Happy March! Dare I say we made it through Winter? Hope so! Warmer temps has me pining for Summer weddings and on account of the new month, I thought I’d share this nautical beauty.
Katie’s mom, Nancy, is a longtime client of ours. She buys arrangements from us throughout the year as well as her holiday decor, so when she came to discuss her daughter’s wedding, we were so excited!
Kate and Peter were married at what is affectionately known here as “The Wad Club” in Stonington Borough.
The boro is quite possibly one of the most charming villages of New England, with surrounding water views and historic homes throughout. It’s the tip of the Long Island Sound, right before the Sound hits the Atlantic.
So water plays a major role in many of our Stonington weddings. Katie definitely wanted a nautical, somewhat preppy theme~ navy and white stripes throughout, Vineyard Vine ties and the family’s goldens in the pics! Of course!
We use soft colors for the flowers with navy striped ribbon for the maid’s bouquets. Katie’s bouquet was filled with hydrangeas, garden roses, ranunculus, and even phaleonopsis orchids. It was carefully wrapped with a pink sash from her mom’s wedding gown. We loved that touch.
Low wood boxes filled with hydrangeas, garden roses and ranunculus along with cute little burlap flags for the table number. And galvanized pails lined the ceremony aisle where Katie and Pete exchanged vows right by the water.
Such a lovely couple, one of our favorite clients and all captured to perfection by Anna Sawin.
Congratulations Katie and Peter! Wishing you much love!
